DEEPEN team member and PhD candidate Thomas Mayer recently got awarded a scholarship by the German Forschungsnetzwerk Alterssicherung (FNA, research network for pensions) of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund. The aim of the scholarship is to support early-career researchers from various disciplines in doing research on topics related to pensions and old-age income.
Since October 2023, Thomas will be financially supported by the FNA for 24 months in order to work on and finish his PhD dissertation. In receiving the scholarship, Thomas will have the opportunity to attend the FNA’s general assembly as well as the colloquium for phd candidates in Berlin, benefitting from valuable feedback on his work on the financialization of the Austrian pension system.
